Pasta Fagioli Soup

Today’s a GREAT day for a hearty soup where I live and this sounds awesome.  Pasta Fagioli Soup  Try this classic Italian soup made with white beans and whole wheat pasta.

Total Time: 25 min.
Prep Time: 10 min.
Cooking Time: 15 min.
Yield: 8 servings, about 1 cup each

Ingredients:
1½ cups dry whole grain small pasta (like macaroni or orzo) (4 oz.)
2 tsp. olive oil
3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
4 cups low-sodium organic chicken broth
1 (15-oz.) can cannellini (white) beans, drained, rinsed
1 (14.5 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
2 Tbsp. tomato paste (no sugar added)
9 fresh rosemary sprigs, leaves removes and chopped, stems discarded
Sea salt and ground black pepper (to taste; optional)

Preparation:
1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Set aside.
2. Heat oil in large saucepan over medium-high heat.
3. Add garlic; cook, stirring frequently, for 1 to 2 minutes, or until soft.
4. Add broth. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium.
5. Add beans, tomatoes, tomato paste, and rosemary. Season with salt and pepper if desired; gently boil, stirring occasionally, for 8 to 10 minutes.
6. Add pasta; cook for 3 minutes. Serve immediately.

21 Day Fix | Barre Legs

Holy Cats! We opted for Barre Legs instead of our scheduled Lower Fix today and WOWZA that’s a heckuva workout! These 30-minute workouts are the real deal and, when combined with the portion control provided with the kit, are getting us real results.

We haven’t done this workout yet and this particular one comes with the Deluxe 21 Day Fix Package.  Whenever I get a Beachbody Program, I always get the Deluxe Deals because the extra workouts are my favorite.

Let me touch on something here that I haven’t really touched on in a blog.  Working out with another person can really help you bring your A Game.  It’s something fun to do together(lots of laughs as you can see), it allows you to be pushed harder with someone watching you, and it can bring a relationship closer.  So try it out!  Have your spouse join you, your kids, a sister or brother, a friend…ANYONE!  🙂 If you cannot get someone to join you in the same room you’re in–no worries! We have groups of people that are doing the same workout, workout the same time of day, have similar goals, or are in your same state–all waiting for a partner to “workout with” virtually.

21 Day Fix|Day 2

The 21-day-fix is a 21-day program that involves portion control, regular exercise, and sound nutrition. Simple to follow and very eye-opening.

Today’s workout was a killer with Upper and then Autumn threw in Abs just because that’s how she rolls.

My food is packed for today with the right tea and let me tell you-I am feeling tougher, stronger and leaner all ready!

21 Day Fix | Day 8 Doing it Together

Trying something different this week.  Gregg and I are doing our Youtube Videos together to see if we can serve you better.

Today is the first day of Week 2 of the 21 Day Fix and I’ve been mostly successful following the food plan–the group as a whole is rocking it.  Yesterday, Gregg noticed that I am slimming on my sides which is important for me.  Gregg has lost 6 lbs in a week and can fit in a pair of jeans he couldn’t last week.  We did have a few cheat meals and cheat drinks but it is what it is; sometimes, that happens.  The important thing to remember is you have to keep going and get back on track.  It is unrealistic for you to be completely perfect and sometimes life happens.

Embrace It…Refocus…Get Work Done!

Today is Total Body Circuit and well let’s just say it’s a little bit of hell wrapped into 30 minutes.  It was an awesome workout though 🙂

Here is the thing to remember…we both have both been where you are.  We have both battled the battled and walked this journey.  We have gotten down to sub temp body fat and now where we are at above our comfort level.  Now, working back down to our goal weight.

I say all that to tell you that it’s okay to start where you are.  Work at it and keep going!

21 Day Fix | Upper Fix | Follow The Plan

First things first-let’s talk water.  Water is a very important part of any fitness program but especially if you are looking to lose weight.  Since I am all about simple, I am going to lay it out here.  You need to drink about half your weight in water.  So if you weigh 150lbs, you would drink 75 ounces of plain old clear water.  It’s that simple-take your weight and divide by half.
